What is the best method for picking up an iPhone 3G on July 11th?

Now that we know what the AT&T Apple iPhone 3G pricing plans will be on 11 July, I am trying to figure out what will be the best way to purchase my iPhone 3G. It seems that you may not be able to order one online and will have to make your purchase at a retail location and activate it just like other mobile phones you buy today.

I already signed up to take the day off of work and now need to decide if going to my local small AT&T store or heading out 30 miles to the Apple store is the best method to get a 16GB iPhone 3G next Friday morning. Last time, I did camp out overnight for the iPhone and then discovered there were plenty at my nearest Apple store so there was really no need to camp out, although my daughters and I did have a memorable experience. That local AT&T store did sell out of the 8GB model with the first 25 people or so in line though so they may again have limited stock compared to Apple stores.

Let me know in the poll below what you think the best method will be for picking up an iPhone 3G next Friday and the results will help me plan my purchase method. I also want to be done with the iPhone in hand by noon (that gives me 4 hours after the stores open) so I can get to my daughters soccer tourney game.

UPDATE: A good question was brought up in the Talkbacks that I still havent seen clearly answered by Apple. Can you buy and activate your new iPhone 3G at an Apple store or will you have to go to an AT&T store to get your service activated? I would think Apple would have AT&T reps in their stores for at least a couple of weeks with some kind of AT&T kiosk or something since lots of folks will be walking into Apple stores to buy the new iPhone and would be sorely disappointed if they then had to search for and drive to an AT&T store to activate their new phone.
