3.1.4 Quaternary strata (Q)

1)全新统冲洪积层(Qhal+pl

1)     Holocene alluvial and pluvial formation (Qhal+pl)

全新统冲洪积层主要分布在河谷的河床及河漫滩位置。厚度不均,主要成份为卵石和砂,含漂石、角砾及粘土。松散。

Holocene alluvial and pluvial formation is mainly in river bed and flood plain of the river valley, with uneven thickness, containing gravel and sand, boulder, angular pebbles and clay. The soil texture is loose.

2)上更新统冲洪积层(Qp3al+pl

2)     Upper Pleistocene alluvial and pluvial formation (Qp3al+pl)

上更新统冲洪积层主要分布在一级阶地与二级阶地上。

The Upper Pleistocene alluvial and pluvial formation is mainly in the first and second terrace.

一级阶地主要为砾砂层,含碎石、砂、贝壳等,覆盖层厚度变化较大,覆盖层厚度约0.511.0m。且上部覆盖有厚度不均的粉土。稍密~密实。

The first terrace is mainly the gravel layer, containing gravel, sand and shell, etc. The coverage varies in thickness, about 0.511.0m. The upper coverage layer has powder soil with uneven thickness, which is rather tight to dense.

二级阶地主要为碎石土层,含漂石、砂及角砾。碎石原岩以砂岩为主,来自于北部的Jhil山脉。稍密~密实

The second terrace is mainly the gravel layer, containing boulder, sand and angular pebbles, etc. the original gravel rock is mainly sandstone from the northern Jhil hills, which is slightly dense-dense.

3.2区域构造

3.2 Regional structure

拟建厂址大的区域上属于Kirthar山脉最南部,称为卡拉奇弧。弧的敞开褶皱轴向东凸,从而构成一个弧形。地层走向在Sehwan地区为北西向逐渐变为南北向,在Thano Bulla Khan地区上场地所在地弧的终点则为从北西向逐渐变为北东东向。

A large majority of the proposed plant site belongs to the most southern part of Kirthar hills, called Karachi arc. The open fold of arc protrudes to the east in axial direction, forming an arc. The stratum strike in Sehwan area turns from the north-west direction to the south-north direction gradually, and then the end point of arc in the Thano Bulla Khan area turns from the north-west direction to the north-east direction gradually.

拟建厂址位于卡拉奇复向斜的西北翼(见图3-2),卡拉奇复向斜东部以Ran Pathani背斜为界,西部以Allah Bano背斜为界。

The proposed plant site is located in the northwest wing of the Karachi anticline (Figure 3-2), with Ran Pathani anticline as the boundary in the north of the Karachi anticline and Allah Bano anticline as boundary in the west.

Allah Bano背斜东南翼交叉折叠形成Mango Pir背斜与Lalji向斜,位于场地的东北部。Allah Bano背斜在Mango Pir背斜西南方向,插入Cape Monze区域。Cape Monze临近场地,为方便表述此背斜在本文中称为Cape Monze背斜。Jhil山脉为Cape Monze背斜南翼,融入到卡拉奇复向斜轻微褶曲的西北翼。

The southeast wing of the Allah Bano anticline is cross-lapped into Mango Pir anticline and Lalji anticline, lying in the northeast of the site. Allah Bano anticline is in southwest of the Mango Pir anticline, inserting into the Cape Monze area. The Cape Monze is near the site, which is called Cape Monze anticline here for the purpose of convenient description. Jhil hill is the south wing of the Cape Monze anticline, mixed into the northwest wing of the Karachi synclinorium slightly fold.

Cape Monze背斜隆起导致冲洪积扇第三代沉积在卡拉奇复向斜的翼部。卡拉奇弧在更新世后期或全新世早期经历过局部隆起,最近的一次区域性隆升导致沿海岸形成上升阶地,并对沉积物产生了冲切作用,从而形成了河流的原始形态。

Cape Monze anticline uplift causes the Tertiary sedimentation of alluvial and pluvial fan is in the wing of the Karachi synclinorium. Karachi arc once locally uplifted in the late pleistocene or early Holocene, and the latest regional uplift caused the raised terrace in the coastwise, as well as punching to the sedimentation, hence to form the original form of the river.

拟建场地很大部分是上更新世(Qp3)至全新世(Qh)近水平状冲洪积层,下部与Manchar组地层接触,在地表或接近地表处没有显示变形的迹象。

A large majority of the proposed site is the nearly horizontal alluvial and pluvial formation from the Upper Pleistocene (Qp3) to the Holocene (Qh); the lower part contacts with Manchar formation, without any sign of deformation at or near the earth surface.

自第四纪以来,拟建场地未经历过任何构造变形。场地很大部分是上更新世至全新世时期形成的水平的冲洪积层。Manchar组地层在冲洪积扇沉积形成前存在变形。冲洪积扇不定形地位于Manchar组地层之上。

Since the quaternary, the proposed site didn’t undergo any structural deformation. A large majority of the proposed site belongs to the horizontal alluvial and pluvial formation formed from Upper Pleistocene to the Holocene. Manchar formation once deformed before the alluvial and pluvial fan was formed, and such fan is located on the Manchar formation shapelessly.
